Lego WeDo - for young explorers
The Lego WeDo collection is designed for children who attend the first three forms of primary school. The toy aims to develop many skills at the same time: it teaches, among other things, how to design and create your own models, how to work together in a group, how to solve problems creatively or how to pursue your goal consistently. The children also have the opportunity to learn the scientific method of work and the correct way of performing experiments and describing the results obtained. The projects proposed by the creators of WeDo provide challenges during the performance of particular tasks, as well as topics for discussion with peers and adults after a given stage of work. Thanks to Lego WeDo sets, children can also learn the basics of many fields of science, such as mathematics, physics, mechanics, electronics, robotics, computer science or programming. They also learn to reason logically, analyze data, draw conclusions and evaluate the usefulness of obtained information. Such skills will be useful not only in the profession of scientist, programmer or engineer, but also in any other work. A great advantage of Lego WeDo is the possibility to perform tasks both independently (with the help of a parent or a teacher) and in a group, which allows to apply this scientific help not only at home, but also during school classes. Two generations of toys are now available - Lego WeDo 1.0 and WeDo 2.0 sets.
Lego WeDo 2.0 base set
The basic Lego WeDo 2.0 set consists of 280 elements. These include pads and other components, as well as electronic components, including a smart hub powered by two AA batteries (other components are connected to it), an AC motor, a motion sensor and a tilt sensor. The Lego WeDo base kit allows you to build several different projects with different levels of difficulty. You can also create your own constructions on its basis. Software for programming finished projects can be downloaded free of charge from the manufacturer's website. It is compatible with desktop computers and laptops with Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and Mac OS installed, as well as with mobile devices based on iOS or Android systems. Compared to the previous version, WeDo 2.0 has been significantly improved: more components and designs are available and construction is simpler and more intuitive. A special pad distributor has also been added to the set, which will allow for easy and quick disconnection of individual parts of the structure. Lego WeDo 2.0 also supports BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) wireless data transmission technology. In addition, the whole thing is placed in a practical, convenient box, which makes it easy to keep the bricks in order and makes small parts not get lost so easily.
What else do you find in this category?
In addition to the Lego WeDo 2.0 base set, you will also find a range of accessories, extensions and spare parts for this and previous series in this section. Among other things, there is a 10-volt power supply for charging the battery built into the WeDo 1.0 hub (also compatible with Lego Mindstorms NXT and EV3) or a smart hub with built-in Bluetooth 4.0 for powering electronic components such as sensors and motors. In our range you will also find spare motors and tilt and movement sensors, which are compatible with the Lego WeDo 2.0 set. In this category there is also a Bluetooth adapter, which will enable wireless communication between the computer and the constructed structures. Additionally, we also offer spare parts sets, which allow to replace lost elements or create more complex projects using more bricks. In this section you will also find a Lego Boost education kit consisting of 840 elements, allowing you to build five different interactive models, such as an electronic guitar, a rover or a robot cat. The set was designed for primary school children who would like to start their adventure with robotics and create their own electronic designs.
