AVR microcontrollers are part of the group of eight-bit microcontrollers. They were designed and created for young students from the Norwegian University of Technology. Currently AVR microcontrollers are often used by hobbyists. They are used in basic projects, although they are also chosen for more advanced systems. They are great at learning to program, which is due to their ease of use and mechanism of operation and speed of installation. The BASIC language compiler for these microcontrollers is conducive to amateur projects, which is appreciated by beginners in electronics and robotics. AVR microcontrollers come in different variants. You can opt for AVR SMD microcontrollers with surface technology. They are great for logic even in small devices. The alternative are THT chassis SMD microcontrollers recommended especially for more advanced and experienced users. Check our offer and adjust the microcontrollers to the level of your project, as well as your skills and capabilities.

AVR microcontrollers consist of several elements, although their construction is not the most complicated. The construction consists of a central processing unit, program memory and RAM as well as an input-output circuit. A very important function is performed by peripheral systems, which determine the capabilities and application of the electronic system. AVR microcontrollers, which you will find in our store, have different kinds of digital and analog input-output sets. You can choose AVR microcontrollers with digital general purpose I/O line (GPIO) as well as digital serial interfaces UART, I2C or SPI and USB. Furthermore, you can use the analog input option, which includes an analog-to-digital converter with an input multiplexer. Moreover, this type of AVR microcontrollers are still equipped with built-in timers and counters. This allows you to generate waveforms with variable fill.
Types and functions of AVR microcontrollers
AVR microcontrollers can be divided into two basic groups, ATtiny and ATmega. The difference between them is the program memory capacity and RAM, as well as the number of peripheral devices. Simpler to build are ATtiny AVR microcontrollers, which usually have no interfaces, including serial ports. They are characterized by lower RAM and program memory. AVR ATmega microcontrollers are more advanced. You will find at least one UART port in them, although very often there are many more. Moreover, they have two interrupts, sometimes more and bigger RAM, which is especially important in more advanced projects. Their big advantage is the presence of a large number of GPIO leads, there are much less ears in ATtina microcontrollers. Both variants, however, have their own area of application and have their own advantages.
Many AVR systems only need power to operate, it can be 5 or 3.3V. Some models have a built-in SC oscillator, which generates a clock run to clock the core. In our store you will find a wide range of AVR microcontrollers in various variants, from simple ATtiny to much more powerful and advanced ATmega. These devices come from the renowned and experienced Microchip company and come in a wide range of different housings. You can opt for a circuit dedicated to the threaded assembly, which is particularly recommended for use in contact plates and larger PCBs. Noteworthy are AVR microcontrollers in enclosures for mounting, distinguished by a larger number of leads, but also in many cases more complicated installation. For comparison THT have from 8 to 40 leads, while SMD enclosures have from 8 to 64 legs.
Microcontrollers are very popular. They are often chosen by our clients for their first, as well as for the next more sophisticated projects.
