Powering and connecting of LED lighting
LED strips and matrices usually require 5VDC power supply, but there are also modules that can be powered by 3V or 12V. For this purpose, the simplest solution will be a 230VAC adapter. When choosing a power supply, you need to pay attention to its current efficiency so that it is large enough for the planned number of diodes in the matrix or LED strip is powered. One way to connect LED strips is a chain connection, which means that each fragment of the LED strip must be connected directly to the power source or other fragment of the LEDs that are connected to the power supply. This method of connection depends on the geometry of the wires and the shape of the connectors in the LED strip and the shape of the output plug of the power supply - if you like to soldering, it will be the most flexible and the cheapest way of assembly. However, if you do not want to pick up a soldering iron, you can use connectors to connect LED lighting modules and power sources without having to solder.
