A growing electronic organism<\/h2>\n

Today’s devices are becoming more and more digitised in order to provide them with completely new functions. One of these is the ability to communicate almost unlimitedly with external sensors<\/b> as well as other equipment enabling instantaneous data exchange.<\/p>\n

The result is an extended network, also known as the Internet of Things. What does this offer companies that decide to make such an investment?<\/p>\n

Why are modern businesses investing massively in the Internet of Things?<\/h2>\n

The aforementioned Internet of Things (IoT) allows for a significant increase in both the efficiency and security of the operation of the entire enterprise<\/b>. It is possible thanks to the use of a whole armada of sensors that collect and exchange information with one another.<\/p>\n

\"<\/p>\n

The data collected can relate to almost every area of the company’s work – from information on the conditions on the production floor, through the temperature and the load on the machines, to data containing a list of employees on the premises.<\/p>\n

IoT sensors can also collect information on company security, making it possible to provide much better protection of company assets. Additionally, by using appropriately selected security systems, it is possible to minimise accidents on the premises<\/b>, for which the Internet of Things is also responsible. Threats can, for good measure, be caught before they even happen.<\/p>\n

\"<\/p>\n

For example, data from smart door locks, which can be opened with a magnetic card, can show that an employee is in a place where they are not supposed to be. As a result, it becomes possible to detect any irregularities and subsequently correct them through in-company training.<\/p>\n

The Internet of Things also carries some risks<\/h2>\n

Any technology, even the best, is never flawless. In the case of devices based on the IoT protocol, it is primarily the huge amount of data that powers the Internet of Things. The dangers are mostly related to the risk of unauthorised access to information<\/b> collected by sensors. Such a situation could potentially lead to a serious data leak<\/b> and, consequently, the loss of company secrets.<\/p>\n

However, these risks can be largely minimised if the entire corporate system is properly secured.<\/p>\n

Both qualified IT specialists and the purchase of good quality IoT systems can help. It is worth mentioning at this point that professional companies dealing with the production of such devices provide full substantive support. Thanks to this it is possible to select appropriate solutions that perfectly fit the profile of the company’s activity.<\/p>\n

In the context of IoT systems, it is also important to mention another issue that is integral to how the Internet of Things works. The threats generated by this solution are also related to the ever-present, gigantic amount of seemingly insignificant data, which, however, can be used to identify an employee.
