The inverter is used to supply circuits operating at 5 V. The circuit has a wide range of input voltages, which makes it ideal for battery-powered constructions. The S7V7F5 ensures stability of the power supply during the entire battery discharge cycle. In order to increase reliability, the module is equipped with short-circuit protection and an automatic power cut-off system when the permissible operating temperature is exceeded.

The module is extremely simple to use, has three basic outputs:
- VIN - input voltage from 2.7 V - 11.8 V. If the lower module does not switch on, the higher one can damage the system.
- GND - ground potential.
- VOUT - 5 V output voltage.
The permitted input voltage range is 2.7 V to 11.8 V. At a lower value, the controller will not switch on. A higher voltage may damage the system.
The output voltage is set to 5 V, but can be up to 5.2 V with no or low load.
The connectors are properly signed on the board.Outputs are 2.54 mm (popular goldpin connectors). The module can be plugged into a contact board , connected with wires or soldered into a dedicated PCB .
The maximum current that can flow through the system depends on the input voltage. This dependence is shown in the diagram below:
This parameter is particularly important for battery operation when it is important to keep the system running for as long as possible on a single charge. The efficiency of the inverter depends on the flowing current and the input voltage (see diagram below). On average, it is between 85 % and 95 %, allowing the maximum use of battery power.
Voltage peaks (pins)
In electronic circuits the starting current may cause the occurrence of so-called pins, i.e. sudden voltage surges to a value above a set level. If the amplitude of the pins exceeds the permissible value of the regulator, it can be destroyed. Therefore, if the system is supplied with voltage above 9V or the load is high inductance, we recommend to solder a capacitor of 33uF/25V or higher as close to the circuit as possible between VIN and GND.
