The device is designed tomeasure soil moistureby means of capacitive detection.DFRobot product has increased water resistance.It can be placed in the soil for a long time, without corrosion.This makes it much more efficient than resistance sensors. It works in a wide range of voltagesfrom 3.3 V to 5.5 V.

The product is compatible withArduino, ESP32,micro:bitorRaspberry Pi. For proper operation with microcontrollers, the sensor only needs to be connected to an external ADC (changing from analog to digital signal). Analogue sensor and 4 pieces of waterproof label are included.

Wiring diagram

Before starting up the sensor, connect the cables to the appropriate ports. Red corresponds to the module power supply (VCC), yellow corresponds to the signal (for example pin A0), and two black wires should be connected to ground (GND).

Excellent idea, but I lack information about scaling, how it looks in different soils - what is the accuracy. Do you have to do the calibration yourself (such information is not a product defect, but some activities to be performed).

There is git, I bought it for the shelly ad on module to automate irrigation in the garden. It works, although in this system, an increase in the percentage on the display means drier soil, so an option to reverse the signal would be useful. Yes, I'm happy :D
