Product description: Polol HP 250:1 motor
Polol's small, lightweight yet powerful motors are used by robot constructors as driving units. The devices can be supplied with voltage up to 9 V, the useful power is over 3 V. The optimum voltage at which the power to strength ratio is best is 6 V.
Motor dimensions
The motor body is a 24 x 10 x 12 mm cuboid. The gearbox is 9,27 mm long. There is a 3 mm D-shaped shaft at the output. Total weight is about 10 g.

Accessories
We offer a range of accessories that work with Polol's micro motors:
- Fixings
For mounting the motors, special fixtures in white or black are designed . An extended version is also available , as well as an aluminum version with increased strength.
In the case of micro 1000:1 and 1000:1 HP motors, the mountings do not cover the entire transmission.
- Engine controllers
Direction and speed control is provided by DC motor controllers. In our offer there are both integrated circuits for self-soldering and ready to connect, cooperating with sets (e.g. Arduino ) modules.
How does the DC motor work?
The Polol 995 motor is a classic DC brush motor equipped with a reduction gear. In such a motor, voltage from the power source is supplied to the carbon brushes, which supply the winding of the rotor through a commutator connected to the rotor. According to Ampere's law, the current flowing in the rotor windings creates a magnetic field that interacts with the stator's magnetic field. The rotor is set in rotary motion and the commutator connected to it, apart from supplying the supply voltage, thanks to the division into isolated considerations.The copper plates are divided into isolated considerations, which causes rapid changes in the supply voltage, making the rotor rotate in the same direction all the time. In order to reverse the direction of rotor rotation, it is necessary to change the polarity of voltage supplied to the motor brushes.
Gearbox - a simple way to increase or decrease the speed of the electric motor
Standard DC electric motors allow for speeds ranging from several hundred to several thousand rpm. However, if a reduction gear is used between the motor shaft and the driven element (e.g. the travel wheel), the speed can be significantly reduced. The Polol 995 engine is equipped with a 250:1 reduction gear. Thanks to this, the engine can be successfully used to drive robots as well as electric trains. However, it should be remembered that in the case of more demanding applications in terms of the strength of the accessoriesHere, intensive overload of the motor shaft and gearbox can lead to burning of brushes and rotor winding.
