Question: I have a 24BYJ48 DC 5V 64 steps motor in the camera with a coil resistance of 21ohm. Can I change to a motor with similar parameters only different resistance?
Answer: The phases of a stepper motor are induction coils, which are not subject to rapid changes in current flow. But at the end of each stroke or when there is no movement, they behave like a resistive load. The motor draws the most current when it is not running. Unfortunately, I am not able to give you information on whether you can replace it with one because I am not able to verify whether this will not damage the control system.
