The BBC micro:bit has been implemented by the Orange Foundation’s SuperKoderzy program in Poland, which is becoming increasingly popular in Polish schools. Reviews of the minicomputer with additional modules can be found among various e-learning portals, and the BBC micro:bits are also discussed in the context of introducing the very idea of programming – the Micro:bit Educational Foundation does not leave teachers and instructors alone. With the micro:bit Classroom, we can both design lessons for our class with MS Makecode and Python, or use existing ones, too.

Whether you use the microcomputer and the included modules at home or at school, you can use BBC Teach for free at the same time. The site features thousands of free curriculum-specific videos organized by age group and subject. V2 version was mentioned in episode #32 of the new product articles’ series.

Hey, teacher! Leave the fear of programming alone!

It may take some time to develop proficiency in programming languages that will allow us to support our students’ digital creativity. The much-needed algorithmic and logical thinking, though often negated due to a dislike of the devices and technologies that require it, is especially true for child development in the modern society. If you are planning to make an effort of taking some courses, post-graduate studies in programming or practically any initiative that develops skills in this field, micro:bit is surely not to be missed stop on this road.

It would be hard to find a better recommendation, or rather to emphasize the importance of the advantages of programming than the words of Anna Świć, coordinator of the EduSense educational programs, ambassador of the EduSense brand and author of publications supporting learning with the Ozobot educational robot – an American invention on field of robotics for children, which is growing popular just like the British micro:bit.
