Outdoor alarm sensors ideal for guarding your property

Outdoor alarm sensors will help you secure your property!

A backyard surrounded by an armada of optical sensors, autonomous detectors and a matrix of cameras carefully covering every corner of the property is no longer a pipe dream taken straight from an action movie, but a reality. There is nothing wrong with that, however, because a properly placed outdoor motion detector in combination with a good alarm system can protect your property against burglary and theft of property.

What should you look out for to secure your home properly?

An alarm system is one of the most important and at the same time most effective types of security. Its task is to constantly monitor sensors located on the premises of a given building and, upon detecting irregularities, to notify the rightful owner and/or the security company.

However, even the best alarm is of little use if the external sensors supporting it are poorly selected. Interestingly, it’s not just about the quality of their workmanship (which is also extremely important), but about matching them to the individual character of a given property.

It is especially important in modern houses with modern architecture, which usually imposes an unusual shape of the building itself. As a result, such properties, on the one hand, have a large number of glazed areas, and on the other hand, often cause the formation of sharp folds and niches, which are difficult to capture with the lens of a monitoring camera.

The solution to this problem may be an outdoor motion sensor, a small device whose task is to detect the presence of uninvited guests. Motion detection is usually carried out by means of sensors, which are extremely sensitive to sudden changes in infrared radiation, generated by an intruder.

They are placed on the premises in such a way as to cover all sensitive access points as precisely as possible – especially entrance gates and wickets. It is also important that the outdoor motion detector is directed at the entrance door and the garage door.

In addition, it is also worth deciding on the installation of wireless opening sensors, which after detecting a change in the position of the door leaf will immediately send a message to the control panel.

The next step is to precisely plan where the remaining external alarm sensors should be placed. Particular emphasis should be placed on securing windows – both optical sensors and more modern vibration and glass break probes can be used for this purpose. When unauthorised access is detected, they will activate the alarm installed in the house.

Repelling the intruder is equally important!

A thief choosing his target is usually guided by common sense, scrupulously calculating the ratio of the risk incurred to the potential profit. If, during his reconnaissance, he sees that the outdoor alarm sensors are evenly distributed throughout the property and their field of view does not leave any blind spots, he will most likely look for another target.

Unfortunately, even such safeguards may sometimes not be enough. That’s why the last defence line should be strong LED lights supported by the loud siren of the alarm system.

Activation of these protections takes place gradually – first the lights are switched on and then, if the external alarm sensors detect a breach in the windows or the opening of the door, a siren emitting a loud sound is activated.

Such a system can also be paired with an alarm control panel, which will momentarily inform the security company of the detected danger.
