Anycubic 3D Printers – series introduction

Reading time: 3 min.

The Anycubic brand was founded in 2015 and operates – like much of the 3D printing equipment on the market today – in the technology basin of Shenzen. The company was founded by two friends who set themselves the goal of producing 3D printers that were solid yet affordable. 3D printing technology has become increasingly popular and refined. Today, the company has more than 300 employees and Anycubic 3D printers are known as solutions with excellent value for money. In this article, we will present models that you may have heard of and those that you can find in our offer.

MEGA series

The first model created in the manufacturer’s laboratories was the Anycubic Mega printer. With time, this model was improved and thus we could learn about its subsequent incarnations developed with further improvements and functionalities. Due to the fact that subsequent models of this series were based on the same base, also the core in the name remained the same. These were the following versions:

  • Mega
  • Mega S
  • Mega SE
  • Mega Pro
  • Mega X
  • Mega Zero
  • Mega Zero 2.0

If you know our assortment, or you follow the blog, you certainly have already had the opportunity to come across the Anycubic Mega X printer offered in our collection. Compared to the base version, this device has an upgraded extruder, adapted to work with flexible filaments. To improve the printing process, a double Y-axis guide rail was used, which improves the stability of the printing table.

Another feature is the use of two screws guiding the Z axis – this increases precision and eliminates printing errors. The printer also has a specially designed surface of the working table, which, depending on the temperature of the hotbed, shows different adhesive properties. This means that at a temperature of approx. 60°C special micro-openings on the table surface expand, increasing the degree of adhesion of the printout.

Anycubic Vyper

The next model brought big changes – these printers are equipped with a new, 32-bit motherboard and a powerful control system based on the Cortex-M3 series microcontroller. This has increased the smoothness of the device’s operation as well as improved the computing power. Compared to the Mega X printer discussed above, the workspace has been slightly reduced.

Anycubic Vyper is equipped with an automatic heating table calibration system. It allows to easily level this element of the 3D printer properly. Quiet operation of the stepper motors is ensured by the integrated TMC2209 controller. A magnetic platform made of spring steel and an additional coating on which prints are formed are further improvements applied in this model. As with the Mega X model, this printer can also be found in our shop.

Photon series

The latest devices from Anycubic introduce a sort of innovation in the way 3D models are made. These printers allow to make them of resin, which hardens with the use of UV radiation. Models which are characterised by such a method of printing are:

  • Photon Mono 4K
  • Photon Mono X 6K
  • Photon Mono X
  • Photon Mono
  • Photon Mono SQ
  • Photon Mono SE

The distinctive yellow casing is certainly the first thing you will notice when visiting the Anycubic printers section of our online shop. The devices of this series are equipped with a safety system, which means that if the top cover of the device is removed during operation, the device will automatically shut down. This feature protects against uncontrolled exposure to the UV light of the projector, which cures the resin creating a new 3D model.

Specifically, the devices use LCD-based SLA technology to form prints. A monochrome LCD projector is responsible for emitting the 405 nm UV light that cures the resin. Of the devices we offer, the Photon Mono X model has the largest 4K projector at 8.9″. The improved UV matrix provides a more stable and even exposure. It also has the largest working field. The intermediate model – Photon Mono SE – on the other hand, is distinguished by its increased working speed, which can reach up to 80 mm/h. The last product in the series, Photon Mono, has a slightly larger working area, but by far its biggest advantage is its lowest price. After all, it is the least complicated printer in the series of resin-based devices.
