What’s New at Botland? #36

Reading time: < 1 min.

If a biweekly magazine is actually a kind of newsletter and concentrates on one topic – the coolest Botland store news of the past two weeks – then chances are that at some point we will run out of ideas for introductions. And yet, we don’t want to reveal in the introduction what awaits you. Let’s just start with What’s New at Botland episode 36!

RTC Waveshare Raspberry Pi Pico module

The presented module is an RTC Real Time Clock extension designed specifically for Raspberry Pi Pico. It contains a DS3231 precision RTC chip and uses the I2C bus for communication. Thanks to the stacking capability – an example illustrated in the picture – we can connect more peripherals. The standard header supports the RPi Pico series, and the embedded chip was found here with space for a CR1220 battery, which will suffice as an alternative power supply.

Our real time clock will count, at atomic precision, the seconds, minutes, hours, days of the weeks and months, months and years with leap year compensation included. Use at will – valid until year 2100. You can choose between 24-hour or 12-hour format with AM/PM indicator. In addition to the precision in time, you also get two programmable alarms, a.e. working great as an alarm clock. The module comes with programming resources composed by Waveshare and a manual (C/C++ programming language and MicroPython examples). Cool thing, because it’s this compatibility that we are often asked about in the context of projects. Detailed technical specifications on the product page.

10 DoF IMU Waveshare Raspberry Pi Pico Sensor
– accelerometer, magnetometer, baroceptor

The Pico-10DOF-IMU is an IMU sensor expansion module specialized to work with the Raspberry Pi Pico. Its sensors, including gyroscope, accelerometer, magnetometer and baroceptor, are already included as the onboard components. Like its predecessor, it uses the I2C bus for communication. Combined with the Raspberry Pi Pico, we can collect all sorts of environmental data such as temperature and barometric pressure or be tempted to work on an easy DIY robot that detects motion and orientation gestures.

The standard socket supports the Raspberry Pi Pico series. There is an on-board ICM20948 (3-axis gyroscope, 3-axis accelerometer and 3-axis magnetometer) for motion gesture, orientation and magnetic field detection. In addition to this, an embedded LPS22HB sensor for sensing atmospheric pressure. environment. Here also no worries about setup- included are programming resources and instructions for Raspberry Pi Pico, C/C++ and MicroPython. A new unique solution on the FFF/FDM 3D printing market has finally come and we expect it soon in our wares. Thanks to an innovative construction based on a sliding belt, which is a working table of the device, CR-30 3DPrintMill allows to print 3D models of increased length – this feature allows you to form 3D prints in “one piece”, without the need to combine smaller elements, which i must be printed separately, at least in the usual cases with standard 3D printers.

The working area in this device is 200 x 170 mm, and the length of the resulting design depends on the user’s current needs. Innovative extruder connected with angled workbed offers precise and long-term filament printing. Visit the product page to check full tech specs of Creality CR-30 3DPrintMill – every description headline covers some special feature and additional info for the most demanding 3D printing fans.
