Product Description: Air purity / dust sensor PM1.0 / PM2.5 / PM10 - 5V UART - PlanTower PMSA003-C
Laser dust sensor allows to determine the degree of air cleanliness. Manufactured by PlanTower, it allows precise analysis of ambient pollution. PMSA003-C measures the concentration of PM1.0 / PM2.5 / PM10 particles . It detects particles with a diameter of 0.3 μm to 10 μm. These types of pollutants include cigarette smoke and car exhaust. The PMSA003-C sensor is powered by 5 V. Communication between the sensor and the microcontroller is via aUART serial interface . The sensor module is also equipped with a low-noise fan that sweeps the particles extremely precisely during the measurement. The sensor has a blue protective film (visible on the photo), which should be removed before the first use.
Voltage on signal lines RX, TX, RESET, SET must not exceed 3.3 V. In case of controlling the module with a higher voltage, we recommend using a voltage converter. |

PMSA003 sensor characteristics
PMSA003 is a digital sensor for measuring the number of suspended particles in the air. The PM1.0 / PM2.5 / PM10.0 dust level is converted into digital form according to the UART interface specification. This sensor can be used to build various instruments designed to measure the concentration of airborne particles, as well as in other equipment designed to evaluate environmental parameters in real time.
How does the PMSA003 air purity sensor work?
The PMSA003 sensor uses laser light emission in its principle of operation. Laser light emitted into the atmosphere is scattered by particles present in it. Based on this, an internal algorithm determines a curve of changes in light scattering in the time domain. The final result of the particulate concentration in the air is calculated according to the MIE solution theory. Using PlanTower air purity sensors, accurate measurements can be obtained.
