All mechanical and electronic systems require power. Without it, they cannot work. They need an energy source that drives them to operate. It is impossible to construct a machine that would work continuously without any energy source. With the development of technology, more and more sources of energy are emerging, which makes mobile devices that do not require a permanent power supply. These are accumulators and batteries, thanks to which we can use the device anytime and anywhere. They are perfect for mobile robots and mobile devices. Alternatively, there are power supplies, which in turn are plugged into an electrical outlet to provide power to the device, then it starts to work. A modern and at the same time inexhaustible source of energy is the sun. More and more often solar panels appear on the roofs of a building, whose task is to collect solar energy and convert it into electricity. Similar, but smaller panels are used in devices and machines, as well as to charge car batteries.

Batteries are electrochemical power sources, commonly used today in electrical equipment. Accumulators consist of one or more cells and their number depends significantly on the required supply voltage. We can distinguish several types of accumulators, which include:
- Lead-acid batteries: they have a nominal lead cell voltage of 2V. Both the anode and the cathode are made of lead plates. This type of batteries is distinguished by the classic with liquid electrolyte and sealed, which are also called maintenance-free. Lead-acid batteries are used in UPS power supplies, telephone exchanges, alarm and fire protection systems, as well as for emergency power supply of the automatics.
- Nickel-hydride batteries: in this case the rated voltage of the cells is 1.2V. The anode is a multi-metal alloy and has the ability to absorb hydrogen, while the cathode is made of nickel, hence the name of the battery. They are characterized by a relatively high density and thus high capacity, but have a shorter service life and have a shorter self-discharge time. These batteries are free of harmful cadmium, so they are more environmentally friendly. They are especially recommended for video and photo cameras, power tools, shavers and portable devices with high power consumption.
- Lithium-ion batteries: rated voltage 3.6V. Like nickel-metal hydride batteries, they have a high capacity, which is due to their energy density of 100-200Wh/kg. We can recharge them at any time, so they are very practical and convenient to use. Lithium-ion batteries are used in various types of devices, including laptops, mobile phones and even electric cars.
Battery chargers
The batteries need to be recharged, for which special chargers are used. They are available in different variants in our offer. There are chargers for classic batteries in sizes R6 and R03, but also chargers for modeling packages. Especially interesting are chargers for car batteries.
As an alternative to ready-made chargers, there are modules that will allow you to create your own charger with the possibility to build it into the device or robot you create. They are designed to provide effective protection against overheating.
Furthermore, you can take advantage of the offer of the most popular micro USB and USB C chargers and dedicated to mobile devices, created taking into account their specificity and working conditions. We also recommend laboratory and emergency UPS power supplies. They have specialized applications and are used in design staff dealing with electronic constructions and systems. So we offer various power supplies for everyday use as well as for professionals and specialists.
