Humidity sensor Check the air humidity level
An important boundary
Humidity is the water vapor content in the air, and the optimal humidity level in living rooms is between 30 and 65%. We feel best in rooms with humidity between 40 and 60%. However, the minimum value should not be lower than 30% and this is specified in the Polish standard PN-78/B-03421. Winter periods can cause the temperature to drop below this value - this is because when there is frost, the level of water vapor in the air is very low. We should have humidity sensors at home to constantly monitor its level.
Below the border
In winter and very hot seasons, during dry days, the humidity level may drop below the threshold of 30%. Humidity sensors available in this category will help you measure this. When the level is very low and the air is too dry, we experience a feeling of dryness in the throat and nose, sometimes scratching, and even breathing problems. Wooden furniture and floors may shrink excessively, which may result in the appearance of gaps. The air should then be saturated with water vapor, e.g. by placing a damp towel on the radiator.
Above the border
Humidity sensors available in our offer can measure humidity levels from 0 to 100%. In addition, they are often equipped with additional meters, e.g. temperature, pressure or gas. During a warm summer, during a stormy period, the humidity can be as high as 80-90% - these are extremely high values that make us feel cold and give us a headache, and also increases the risk of upper respiratory tract diseases. The adverse impact on health is not the only symptom - laundry or washed floors do not dry at such high values. The walls may become damp and dew may appear on the windows. Excessive humidity should be combated, e.g. by using air dehumidifiers.
Stay level
Maintaining the correct level of humidity in the rooms we stay in is extremely important. Humidity sensors available in our offer will help us in this task and accurately indicate the level of water vapor in the air. If it is too low, we should open the windows often and ventilate the room - this will also help if the level is too high. Fresh air improves the comfort of staying in such a place. In winter, use a wet towel placed on the radiator, but the best solution is to buy an air humidifier, necessarily with a hygrostat. This condition will be checked regularly by a humidity sensor.
Correct humidity level
When humidity sensors indicate that the level is too high and this effect has persisted for a long time, first locate the reason for this state of affairs, e.g. leaking pipe, damp foundations, leaking thermal insulation of walls or corners, and then counteract this, which will speed up the drying process. Air dehumidifiers, moisture absorbers or an air conditioner that removes water vapor from the room during operation and maintains it at the correct level will effectively cope with this task.
