When planning and building a modern apartment interior, house or industrial and service premises, you cannot forget about the humidity sensor that will inform you and your loved ones about the humidity in the room. Both too low and too high levels of humidity in the air are detrimental to human health. With a professional sensor, you are able to find out how to improve the air at home or in the office. Thanks to this, you will be able to provide optimal conditions for living or doing business in the interior. We have a wide selection of humidity sensors in our store. We propose the purchase of simpler and more complicated devices equipped with sets of probes. The big advantage of shopping in Botland is that our products are of the highest quality and at the same time available at the lowest prices! We invite you to shop in our online Botland store! Here you will find a humidity sensor and much more!
What is the appropriate level of air humidity in the living space?
Humidity is the amount of water vapor in the air. The optimal level of humidity in living quarters is considered to be between 30% and 65% humidity. Research shows that we feel best in rooms with 40 - 60% humidity. The minimum value of humidity in the air should not be lower than 30%. It has been defined by many national (in Poland: PN-78 / B-03421) and international standards. Unfortunately, during the winter season, the level of humidity in the air decreases naturally. On the other hand, such a situation will also take place in the summer, especially in the times when droughts are becoming more and more popular. Therefore, it is recommended to regularly check the level of humidity in the air. A proven humidity sensor will be used for this!
Humidity sensors – the very unwanted results of exceeded air humidity levels
In winter and very hot seasons, as well as on dry days when it does not rain for a long time, the humidity level may drop below the 30%. The humidity sensors available in this category will help to measure this. When the humidity level is very low, the air is dry and the throat and nose feel dry. In extreme cases, this situation even leads to breathing difficulties. Moreover, it is also detrimental to some wooden furniture that is starting to shrink.
The second option is also unfavorable. This applies to situations when the air humidity is too high. The humidity sensors available in our offer can measure the humidity level from 0 to 100%. In addition, they are often equipped with additional temperature, pressure or gas sensors. During warm summers and rainy periods, humidity can be as high as 80-90%. It is definitely too much and causes discomfort for every human, there may be headaches and a feeling of coldness can occurred even when it is relatively warm temperature. The walls may get wet. Such conditions favor the growth of molds that are especially dangerous for our health.
Humidity sensors and DIY projects
We will not change the weather conditions outside, but those in our homes can be controlled. Humidity sensors can be a single and handy measuring devices, but they can also be one of the most important components of advanced projects. In our automation and robotics store you will find many useful parts that will help you to create a robot you’ve been dreaming of, or simply a very practical system for managing the level of air humidity. For this purpose, equip yourself with programmable electronics (eg Arduino / Raspberry Pi PCBs), appropriate modules, basic programming knowledge and humidity sensors available in this category!
