Product description: Cytron Maker Soil Moisture - capacitive soil moisture sensor
Cytron Maker Soil Moisture sensor is a sensor that can measure soil water content and connect with various microcontrollers. The sensor has an analog output in the form of a Grove connector, it can be connected to a microcontroller with an analog input. The output of the capacitive soil moisture sensor is a voltage signal, the lower the voltage, the higher the moisture content . The corrosion-resistant double-sided probe can be driven into the soil to a depth of 60 mm . The sensor board also has LED diodes informing about the humidity level: dry / watering / wet, thanks to which it can work as a standalone device without a microcontroller, it is enough to supply a power supply from 2.5 V to 7 V. The output voltage is from 1 V to 5, 2 V. In addition, the sensor has an energy saving function, applying the HIGH signal to the DIS pin will turn the sensor off. The Cytron Soil Moisture Sensor can be successfully used in intelligent irrigation system projects.
Leads of the soil moisture sensor
The capacitive soil moisture sensor is equipped with a four-pin Grove connector with an analog output and a switch-off pin. Double-sided, capacitive, corrosion-resistant probe allows you to measure soil moisture up to a depth of 60 mm. The output is a voltage signal, the higher the humidity level, the lower the output voltage from the sensor.
