The main features of the original Arduino Uno R4 modules

  • Hardware backward compatibility - Arduino Uno R4 has the same pinout and logic voltage (5 V) as Arduino Uno R3 . This means that all overlays and designs can be easily transferred to the new version of the board.
  • New on-board components - The Uno R4 version has several new on-board components, such as a 12-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC), CAN BUS, OP AMP and SWD debug port. Thanks to them, you can significantly extend the functionality of your projects.
  • More memory and faster processor - Increased memory (16x) and processor clock speed (3x) allow you to perform more precise calculations and handle more complex projects.
  • HID over USB-C - The Arduino Uno R4 allows you to simulate a mouse and keyboard via USB Type-C. This feature allows you to create an interesting user interface with minimal effort.
  • High supply voltage range - the Uno R4 board can be powered with a voltage of up to 24 V. The circuit has been equipped with a number of protections to minimize the risk of damage to the board or PC by incorrect connection of wires by the user. The RA4M1 microcontroller is also equipped with overcurrent protection.
  • Capacitive touch support - the RA4M1 microcontroller used in the Arduino Uno R4 natively supports capacitive touch.

What distinguishes the Arduino Uno R4 WiFi?

  • WiFi and Bluetooth wireless communication - Uno R4 WiFi is equipped with the ESP32-S3-Mini coprocessor, which allows you to create IoT projects thanks to WiFi and Bluetooth wireless communication.
  • 12x8 LED matrix - there is a 12x8 matrix of bright red LEDs on the board (96 points in total). This is the perfect functionality for creative projects using animations or for plotting sensor data, without the need for additional components.
  • Qwiic connector - Arduino Uno R4 WiFi has a built-in Qwiic I2C socket, which allows you to quickly and easily connect I2C modules equipped with the same connector to the board, without the need for soldering.
  • Diagnosing errors in real time - the board is equipped with a "error catching" mechanism that detects operations that may cause its failure, e.g. division by zero. When an error is detected, the board will print a detailed explanation of the error and its causes on the serial monitor.

Plug and Play

The Arduino Uno R4 WiFi board is equipped with a Qwiic connector that allows you to connect one or many available modules from the wide Qwiic ecosystem. After using the appropriate adapter, it is also possible to connect modules of other ecosystems, such as Grove .
Combined with the well-known ecosystem of Arduino Uno shields , Uno R4 WiFi becomes a very versatile platform for creating projects without the need for a breadboard or soldering.

This is the first time I've had such a device. I am very satisfied with it. You can practice very well and have a lot of opportunities
Paweł 10.06.2024 Confirmed purchase Translated review
I was a programmer and wanted to play with this circuit. After a few days, I can say that the operation is very simple. After a short instructional video on yt I managed to do the following within a few hours: * write a program to turn on and off the diode on the board * connect to WiFi and create a web server * Create a WiFi access point and connect to it with your phone * write inscriptions on the LED matrix * connect the device to the Arduino IoT Cloud and view the readings from the potentiometer in the browser and send subtitles from the browser to be displayed So far everything works and I have not encountered any problems with this chip. In my opinion, it's worth paying a dozen or so zlotys extra for built-in wifi support and the ability to write various things on the led matrix (the uno version without wifi was a dozen or so zlotys cheaper). As for the programming itself, there are many libraries that can be easily used with this board and everything goes very quickly. 👍️

Even better than its predecessor, and it is very well made (solidly).
Konrad 07.02.2024 Confirmed purchase Translated review
I have been testing for a few days. I was a little worried about the low current performance of the pins, but I guess it doesn't matter much for learning. I connect LEDs, buttons, etc. Anyway, I didn't burn the device :) Some issues with the cloud application, but it's probably due to the firewall or browser security settings. The IDE is working, so for now, it's enough for me.

Phenomenal tile! Exactly what I was waiting for. The capabilities of the arduino combined with the built-in Wi-Fi and BT are a great combination. And the LED matrix is a nice addition that allows you to display simple messages, e.g. about the status of the board. At this price, it's a great choice!

Run Arduino, new version as it should be...
Piotr 13.07.2023 Confirmed purchase Translated review
FINALLY some innovation in Arduino products. The board is much better than the previous version. The only downside is the inability to replace the microcontroller, but it has to be like that - 32-bit microcontrollers are not made in DIP packages. Solid workmanship, and the set includes a transparent plate stand/overlay, so there is no problem that something will short when the plate is placed on something metal on a cluttered table where the project is made - someone thought about typical conditions of use ... ;-)
Dorota 13.07.2023 Confirmed purchase Translated review
Excellent
Dariusz 11.07.2023 Confirmed purchase Translated review
Great board, I recommend.
Piotr 10.07.2023 Confirmed purchase Translated review
Definitely the best and most attractively priced Arduino board. For now, however, it does not have the support that Rev3 has.
