Milesight GS601 is a modern smoke and air quality detector designed for schools, toilets, stairwells, apartments and other enclosed spaces. It uses laser detection technology to identify e-cigarette smoke, combusted nicotine and marijuana . Thanks to LoRaWAN technology, it can operate in a wide frequency range and transmit data to the cloud or building management systems. The sensor has a built-in audible alarm and LED diode , which inform about detected smoke. It can also be configured via NFC , which makes installation and adjustment of operating parameters easier. The solid construction resistant to interference from water vapor and other gases ensures high measurement accuracy in various environmental conditions.
During the first setup, you will need to know the default password that synchronizes your device with the application: 123456 .

Question: Basically just one simple question - does this milesight gs601 sensor work and actually detect cigarette smoke? Because so far none of the dedicated sensors that I have purchased for this purpose, it can be assumed that it does not work. Even when 3 smokers are blowing smoke at them. Has anyone tested this or is it just the manufacturers promises? Because spending another thousand zlotys in the dark does not smile to me anymore. Regards Artur Lipiec
The Milesight GS601 sensor is designed to detect cigarette smoke and vapor from e-cigarettes. It uses a laser particle sensor and advanced analysis, which allows it to detect even a small amount of smoke.
The device has been tested by us with an e-cigarette and I can confirm its performance. It is possible to turn on the buzzer when smoke is detected.
