How do rocker switches work?
These are buttons that integrate two basic functions of electrical devices, i.e. switching on and off. A single cast is made, which is a rocker button, similar to its movement when switching on and off the device. Usually they are used for standard functions, so they are used to turn a system on or off, run a specific device or options in more complex installations. They are responsible for starting the flow of electricity and delivering it to e.g. a light bulb, which can then light up. The position of the switch can be easily identified by both sight and touch. Thanks to the special backlighting, you can easily find the button even in the dark and with limited light. Pressing the button causes a specific state, it is not always switching on the light, sometimes for example, to activate some function in the device or vehicle.
Use of rocker switches
The rocker switches have many advantages, they are easy to operate but also to install, easily identify their positions, are extremely versatile and have a versatile range of applications. For this reason they are very popular in simple projects, although their advantages are also appreciated in much more advanced systems. Rocker switches can be used on the ground in installations where the operation takes place in a limited concentration on the action of switching it between successive positions. Many modern rocker switches have an IP65 or even higher rating, which means that they can be used in adverse conditions. This is a symbol of high tightness and thus resistance to dust, dust and water. For this reason, rocker switches can be installed both inside the building and the vehicle, as well as outside. We use them in cars, electronic devices, power tools and lighting systems as well as industrial machines.
Types of rocker switches
Rocker switches vary in size and shape, they can also have LEDs and backlighting, so the buttons are visible with limited light. For installation in a housing we recommend switches with a built-in power supply socket. In our store's offer you will also find bipolar switches with 3 buttons and 3-position instantaneous switches. All rocker switches available in our store are designed for devices with a voltage of 12 V, 230 V or 250 V. They can be characterized by a current capacity of 2 A, 2.5 A, 3 A, 6 A, 15 A, 16 A, 20 A, 35 A. Rocker switches are available as single elements and are also sold in sets for larger projects. There are special markings on the switches that help to identify the button position.
