Unit modules - displays compatible with the M5Stack system
The main feature of the vast majority of devices in the M5Stack Unit series is their extremely compact size - in most cases not exceeding about 50 mm in the largest dimension. Despite such significant geometric limitations, engineers at M5Stack Technology have managed to create some interesting modules, equipped with various types of displays. The largest capabilities in terms of displaying color graphics are provided by a 1.14" color LCD display with a resolution of as much as 135 x 240 px. A module with an OLED display of a slightly longer diagonal (1.3") is also of comparable size - in this case the resolution is 128 x 64 px.
However, the M5Stack Unit series did not omit the proven, albeit much simpler in design, conventional displays, based on a 7-segment LED design, either. The M5Stack U146 board, unlike most of the modules available in China's IoT ecosystem, however, does not include a housing - four mounting holes allow easy incorporation into any end device. For displaying a variety of lighting effects, meanwhile, the NeoHex - a hexagonal RGB LED matrix display with 37 addressable LEDs - is ideal.
