Goldpin connector design
Connectors based on pin leads (goldpin) can be connected in several ways. Typically, one part of the connector consists of male pin leads, soldered to the PCB, the ends of which can be placed perpendicular to the board surface or parallel, in the form of leads appropriately curved at an angle of 90°. The most common goldpin connectors are single- and double-row connectors with a pin pitch of 2.54 mm. Such connectors are found, among others, in Arduino and Raspberry Pi boards, while XBee boards use connectors with a pitch of 2.00 mm.
Gold - a metal with many advantages that can be seen in electronics
Due to its very good physicochemical properties , gold is used not only in jewelry, but also in electronics. Due to its very low resistivity, gold is a very good conductor and is therefore used in the production of electronic connectors, allowing very small currents to flow . Compared to other low-resistivity metals, such as copper or silver, gold is much more resistant to aggressive environmental conditions that can lead to corrosion. A gold alloy containing metals such as nickel or cobalt increases its mechanical strength. For these reasons, gold is used to produce goldpin connectors , ensuring a reliable connection between interacting electronic systems.
Goldpin sockets and pin connectors - Botland - Shop for robotics
The Botland store's assortment includes both single goldpin sockets and sets consisting of several or a dozen pieces. We offer, among others: precise single-row strips, as well as strips with terminals that eliminate the need for soldering. The goldpin connector allows you to connect various types of accessories, including overlays extending the functionality of minicomputers and microcontrollers. The ability to directly connect the goldpin strip to the breadboard significantly speeds up and facilitates prototyping.
