One of the most important tasks of any home automation system is to control electrical devices. It can be performed remotely (e.g. from a mobile application or web software with access through any web browser) or fully automatically, based on a pre-programmed schedule or data collected from various types of sensors. Types of home automation controllers
Intelligent controllers available on the market can be divided according to the method of connection and general construction form. The most universal and most convenient to install are wall-mounted modules - small, specially shaped housings contain all the elements necessary for remote control of devices connected to the controller: a WiFi module, a microcontroller and an output circuit, usually based on a compact relay. Such products are offered by, among others: BleBox, Shelly, Sonoff, as well as Zamel, Fibaro and Tuya brands. In addition to the classic, universal 230 VAC device controllers, there are also more advanced models available, enabling, for example, smooth dimming of lighting or control of window blind motors. In-wall controllers are usually connected using a built-in terminal block.
Some intelligent controllers come in the form of modules that are compatible with a standard DIN rail (TS-35). They are perfect for systems based on a central controller located in a switchboard or fuse box. The third category are "stand-alone" controllers, manufactured in housings ready to be placed in any convenient place for the user - such forms include, among others: LED lighting controllers compatible with addressable RGB LED strips.
