Honeycomb worktables
Laser engraving machines have gained extraordinary popularity due to a number of advantages - they are quiet, fast, very precise and enable engraving and marking a wide range of materials - from cardboard, through leather, wood or bamboo, to even some metals (e.g. anodized aluminum or stainless steel ). In the case of thinner materials, machines with adequate power allow not only engraving, but also cutting - and this usually involves the need to use maximum laser power, which in turn leads to the production of fumes in the cutting area.
In order to avoid excessive dirt and problems resulting from the accumulation of fumes in the laser beam area, it is worth getting a special work table in the form of a honeycomb - a solid metal frame is filled with a fine, durable mesh with a structure reminiscent of "bee architecture", additionally reinforced through metal rods. This design provides sufficient space under the workpiece, which enables effective exhaust gas distribution, and additionally prevents the material from sticking to the base surface.
Cutting mats - necessary accessories for blade cutters
In the case of the most delicate materials - e.g. paper or various types of foil (vinyl, PVC, etc.), as well as thin sheets of leather - specialized cutters are used, usually based on a mechanically guided knife (blade) or laser. To ensure the right surface for processing, it is worth investing in dedicated cutting mats, ensuring not only full dimensional compatibility with your machine model, but also offering a perfectly even, flat surface and adequate resistance to damage caused by the tip of the blade.
Users of the innovative xTool M1 series cutters have special self-adhesive mats at their disposal, allowing for comfortable work with delicate materials and enabling full use of the possibilities offered by the cutters. The large size of the mat (435 mm x 348 mm) provides a sufficient working area to work with sheets that exceed the dimensions of a standard A3 sheet (297 mm x 420 mm), which makes it possible to cut really large details used in various applications - advertising, decorating, handicrafts and many others.
