Product description: MyoWare 2.0 Wireless Shield - expansion module for the MyoWare 2.0 Muscle Sensor - ESP32-WROOM - SparkFun DEV-23387
MyoWare 2.0 Wireless Shield is a module that extends the functionality of the MyoWare 2.0 Muscle Sensor by adding a wireless data transmission function. Equipped with the ESP32-WROOM module, it allows for fast and stable transmission of information about muscle activity in real time. Thanks to the built-in 40 mAh Li-Pol battery and a dedicated charging system via USB Type-C connector, the sensor can operate independently of an external power supply. The board has snap connectors and low-profile pogo pins , which allow for easy and trouble-free connection to the MyoWare 2.0 Muscle Sensor. Thanks to this, there is no need to solder components. Additionally, the system has numerous protections , such as ESD diodes on USB data lines, a PTC fuse for VUSB and protective diodes on the VUSB and VBATT lines.
The manufacturer has prepared a detailed user guide for the MyoWare 2.0 ecosystem.
Attention!
MyoWare 2.0 series products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate or prevent disease or other conditions in humans or animals.

USB Type-C and the CH340 USB to serial converter enable programming using the Arduino IDE.
Main features of the module
- Wireless data transmission : thanks to the ESP32-WROOM module, it is possible to send information about muscle activity to other devices
- Built-in 40 mAh Li-Pol battery : allows operation without the need for an external power source
- Programming via USB Type-C: Thanks to the CH340 chip, it can be easily configured via the Arduino IDE
- Easy connection : snaps and pogo pins eliminate the need for soldering
- Isolation from the power grid : increases user safety and reduces measurement interference
- Voltage regulation : the operating voltage of the module is 3.3 V, which ensures compatibility with most logic circuits
- Qwiic support : two Qwiic connectors allow easy connection of additional modules using the I2C interface
- Additional PTH pins : enable advanced expansion and adaptation of the module to specific projects
Compatibility, connection and programming
The MyoWare 2.0 Wireless Shield is compatible with the MyoWare 2.0 ecosystem , allowing you to easily expand the functionality of your muscle sensor. It can be programmed using the Arduino IDE , using the CH340 converter to connect via USB Type-C. Once the appropriate code has been uploaded, data can be sent wirelessly to devices that support ESP32 . Connecting the board is intuitive - just place it on the MyoWare 2.0 Muscle Sensor, select a power source, and turn the module on . Additional configuration jumpers give you control over features such as pull-up resistors for the I2C bus or select a reference voltage.
MyoWare 2.0 Ecosystem
MyoWare 2.0 is an ecosystem of overlays that can be easily connected to muscle sensors , as well as to Arduino , to create a universal electromyography (EMG) sensor. The innovative snap-in connector system allows easy connection of modules, and the analogue TRS Jack 3.5 mm is used to connect to a microcontroller, which measures the raw, filtered and rectified electrical activity of the target muscle.
