Product description: VL53L4CX time-of-flight - distance sensor - STEMMA QT / Qwiic I2C - Adafruit 5425
The Adafruit module is equipped with the VL53L4CX time-of-flight distance sensor, which allows you to measure distances in the range from 1 mm to 6000 mm with the precision of LIDAR sensors. The time-of-flight method is based on measuring the time from the emission of a pulse from the infrared laser to its return to the detector. It is independent of the reflection of light from the object. On the board you can find two Qwiic / STEMMA QT connectors for a seamless connection with the I2C interface of a microcontroller with the same connector. The module works with a logic voltage of 3.3 V and 5 V, supplied with the voltage from 3 V to 5 V.
Pins of the module with the sensor VL53L4CX
The module with the VL53L4CX sensor for communication with the microcontroller uses the I2C interface. The board is equipped with two Qwiic / STEMMA QT connectors for easy connection with the module with the same connector. The outputs of the board are:
- VIN - module power pin from 3 V to 5 V.
- GND - the ground of the system.
- SCL - clock line of the I2C interface.
- SDA - data line of the I2C interface.
- GPIO - interrupt pin with 2.8 V output, can be read by 3.3 V and 5 V microcontrollers.
- XSHUT - disable pin, activated by a low state, can be used with 3V and 5V logic.
