A laser diode is a type of light-emitting diode with additional semi-transparent and light-reflecting elements (so-called optical resonator), which multiply the reflection of the light emitted by the diode. This allows you to obtain a narrow beam of coherent light.

Laser diodes are used, among others, in audio and video reading and recording devices, scanners , printers, laser epilators and cutting and processing equipment .

The laser emits coherent light - photons in the beam move parallel to each other, and not in every direction (which is the case, for example, in light emitted by ordinary light bulbs or diodes).

The laser is reflected by, among others, mirrors, glass and semi-transparent elements, and to a lesser extent also all smooth, bright surfaces, dust particles and many other things.
