Product description: Non-contact liquid level sensor - digital - DFRobot SEN0368

Manufactured by the companyDFRobotThe non-contact capacitive liquid level sensor is equipped with astatus indicator and the possibility of adjusting sensitivity. This product can be used to detect liquids in non-metallic containers or pipes(external diameter greater than 11 mm). Feedback on the status of the sensor takes place in real time. In addition, this sensor is equipped with a 4-pin adapter, which allows the direct collection of a digital signal, convenient for connection toArduinoor other microcontrollers. This product features a wide applicability in detecting liquid in a tank, water dispenser, etc. This non-contact liquid level sensor is developed with advanced signal processing technology using high-speed chip. The measurement is not affected by the thickness of the container walls, contamination and the presence of acids and alkalis.

Question: What is the load capacity of the contacts of the output of the sensor ? whether it is possible to include in the circuit, for example, a relay/contactor. About what supply voltage ?
Answer: Unfortunately, the sensor output has a constant 3.3 V / VIN or 0 V (depending on the jumper setting) and it will not be possible to control an external relay/contactor directly from the sensor.

Question: Hello Botland, a valve is to be controlled via Arduino when a certain liquid level is reached. The liquid is in a glass cylinder (D=30mm) could this work with the sensor? The liquids are organic solvents such as hexane or dichloromethane. What interferes with the capacitive measurement? vg Micha
Answer: The sensor should be suitable for any non-metallic tank with a minimum diameter of 11 mm.

all ok, thank you!

Super product, switching point optimally adjustable. In my case, switches a small water pump for watering the geraniums with the help of a coupling relay.
Krzysztof 19.05.2023 Confirmed purchase Translated review
Good documentation, 3.3V converter included (5..12V power supply). Good adjustable sensitivity, well-designed elastic capacitive electrodes - easy to adjust to the shape of the tank.
Andreas 30.03.2023 Confirmed purchase Translated review
If everything worked fine, I integrated the sensors with an Attiny84 as OneWire sensors. What is not so good is the documentation of DFRobot. The jumpers for pull and down are not well explained there
