The WisBlock series was created by RAKwireless, a Chinese company based in Shenzhen. The goal of the manufacturer was to design a modular system for building their own devices and IoT installations, which would allow for easy assembly of individual elements into larger constructions. The result of these efforts was the creation of WisBlock series, which includes basically all components needed to create electronics: controllers of individual components, central controllers, sensors, actuators, buttons or development boards with many types of overlays. In addition, for the WisBlock collection there is a huge selection of spare parts and accessories, which allow you to extend the functionality of individual products. It is worth noting that many WisBlock modules and accessories are compatible not only with solutions created by RAKwireless, but also with articles from other manufacturers (for example Raspberry Pi).

LPWAN in WisBlock Modules and Accessories

LPWAN is a technology enabling creation of wide area wireless networks, which are characterized by low throughput and very low power consumption. Thanks to this, such networks are perfect for connecting IoT devices over large areas. LPWAN technology is also used by WisBlock series products - they use LoRaWAN communication standard, which uses radio waves with a frequency of 868 MHz.
