How to match the housing to the board?
The casing must be compatible with the board, which means that we must consider its size and shape as well as the environment in which it will be used. We offer a wide range of different variants, which are from 16 to 250 mm wide, 15 to 410 mm long and 2 to 180 mm high. Also check which holes and in which areas the casing is equipped. These are the ones through which you can put the cables, as well as the ones in which you will place the sockets. You can choose from the cases developed with regard to the specifics of power supplies connected to standard sockets used in Poland. You should opt for a case with a ventilation system, which translates into a much greater efficiency and effectiveness of cooling. If you want to mount your device on the wall, then decide on a model with the so-called "ears", which is adapted for installation on a DIN rail.
The key factor influencing the purpose and area of use of the housing is its tightness. It is a parameter which determines protection against penetration of water, dust, low temperature and all types of contamination. The electronics in the enclosure are highly sensitive to all these factors and therefore should not come into direct contact with them. The housings have different markings in this respect. Lack of any protection is marked with IP20. Such enclosures are only protected against foreign bodies with a diameter of 12.5 mm and more. A universal and relatively often chosen model is the IP53 enclosure. It provides protection against water, which gushes at an angle of up to 60 degrees, as well as against dust. If we decide on the protection level of IP54, we can expect protection against water spraying regardless of the direction. The highest degree of protection against dust is guaranteed by IP65. In the case of the IP67, we can immerse the housing and the electronics inside for a while in water. This is a casing with a very high level of waterproofness.
Features of the housing for electronic circuits
First of all, it is important to point out that the casing has a protective function and its task is to prevent foreign bodies, dust, dirt and water from entering the sensitive electronic system. Contact with them could damage the electronics and cause a short circuit. It is also dangerous for people in the vicinity and current use of the device. At the same time the casing provides a visually aesthetic appearance of the electronics. It is hidden in a plastic casing in black, grey, white or other color. Sometimes it also has an additional pattern, which gives the whole original design.
Apart from housings, our offer includes numerous mounting elements, which make it easy to install the housing and fix it to a specific surface, such as a wall. They ensure stability and even greater protection of the whole electronics. Ensure safety and visual aspects of your project!
