The HW design looks good, but in the end it works as expected (tested on an external 5V power supply, 12V not tested). The advantage is the possibility of variant activation of the 120 Ohm termination resistor, so it can be used both at the ends of the line and in the middle. The manufacturer's documentation is a bit of a problem, it can be found, but you have to search a bit and it's a bit confusing. An even bigger problem is that the sample sketch listed on the manufacturer's Wiki site cannot be translated (Arduino IDE 2.3.6). In the end, it turned out that a relatively fundamental modification of the sketch is needed based on an understanding of which UART the converter is actually connected to (it is not the default one for Seeduino XIAO SAMD21 on pins A7, A6). The converter is connected to pins A5, A4, to which the SERCOM2 (HW Serial3) can be mapped. Despite the above, I can finally recommend the converter, but it requires a thorough understanding of its connection to the Seeeduino XIAO and behind the scenes of Arduino, how SERCOM units work in AT SAMD21 processors. It was a struggle, but beautiful 💪
