RP2040-Matrix from Waveshare is a board with a built-in 5 x 5 RGB LED matrix , which is used to create eye-friendly visual effects. It also has 20 GPIO pins , thanks to which you can expand the board with additional modules and functions. The built-in RP2040 system contains a dual-core ARM Cortex M0+ processor clocked at up to 133 MHz, 264 kB of SRAM memory and 2 MB of Flash memory . The microcontroller has the ability to connect to various devices using the available USB Type-C port and is compatible with the MicroPython and C/C++ SDK Raspberry Pi programming languages.

Long-term operation of the RGB LED matrix may lead to overheating of the diodes, which has a negative impact on their service life, and in extreme cases may even lead to their burnout, so it is important to monitor the matrix's operating time and use the mode with reduced energy consumption.
