Image and sound
The Raspberry Pi hasa HDMI version 1.4 connector, through which both video and audio can be transmitted. In addition, the board is equipped with a 4-field 3.5 mm jack socket, to which you can connect headphones, speakers or output video via RCA Composite standard. In our offer you will find a suitableJack - RCA cable.
Operating system
The raspberry drive isa microSD memory card. The operating system can be uploaded using a computer with a reader. In our shop there arecards with NOOBs program installed, which at the first start allows you to choose from the systems: Raspbian, Pidora Openelec, RaspBMC, RISC OS, Aarch Linux.
Communication
Malina has basic communication interfaces that can be found in PC-class office computers. In addition to the previously mentioned audio and video interfaces, the user has at his disposal:
- four USB connectors, under which you can connect e.g. a mouse, a keyboard, a WiFi card or a flash drive. If it turns out that there are too few connections, you can increase their number usingan external USB HUB.
- Ethernet socket,i.e. the possibility of direct connection to the LAN.
- GPIO- general purpose outputs/inputs, can be used to operate LEDs, buttons, motor controllers. Among them there are pins supporting interfaces: I2C, SPI and UART. In the B+ version the number of GPIO has been increased from 26 to 40.
Power supply
The system uses the microUSB connector as the power source. In practice, this means that amobile phonechargerwitha minimumcapacityof 1 A can be used to run Rasbperry Pi.
Accessories compatible with version B+
Most of the modules using GPIO connectors (with the exception of Audio circuits such as Wolfson) will continue to work properly with the new version of raspberry. Devices using USB (e.g. WIFi) and HDMI ports will be compatible. A dedicated camera can also be successfully connected to B+ version:standard, daytimeorNoir versionwithout UV filter.
Accessories that will not work with B+ version
Audio overlays that use additional connectors (derived as soldering pads) will not work with the new version. The spacing of the sockets has also changed, so the existing housings are not compatible with the B+ model. An attempt to plug in the GPIO 26-pin cable will result in bending the Raspberry B+ connectors.
