Distance sensor manufactured by SparkFun. It was equipped with the TMF8821 system, which measures in the range from 1 cm to 500 cm . The operation of the sensor is based on the time-of-flight (ToF) technology - the distance from the obstacle is calculated on the basis of the time difference between the light pulses. SparkFun Qwiic dToF Imager detects objects regardless of their color, reflectance or texture. It allows for excellent measurement performance in both dark and sunny places. The communication module uses the I2C interface, it is supplied with the voltage from 2.7 V to 3.6 V.

Leads of the distance sensor
The module with the TMF8821 distance sensor for communication uses the I2C interface. It is supplied with the voltage from 2.7 V to 3.6 V. It has two connection alternatives - with Qwiic connectors or solder pads.
- GND - the ground of the system
- 3V3 - power supply 3.3 V
- SDA - data line of the I2C bus
- SCL - clock line of the I2C bus
- INT - interrupt pin
- GP0 - general purpose input / output, pin can be used to connect to SYNC signal to interrupt TMF8820 / TMF8821
