USB history lesson

The USB standard officially came out in January 1996, but it had been in development for two years. Version 1.0 could operate in two modes Low-Speed and Hi-Speed, but did not allow the use of extenders. In 1998, version 1.1 appears, which solved most of the problems known from the previous version. Three years later comes version 2.0, which in addition to increased bandwidth brings new B-type plugs and mini and micro versions. After 2007, USB 3.0 cables were presented and here we arrive at the range currently available on the market.

Version 3.0

USB 3.0 cables since their premiere also lived to see two generations, which were renamed to 3.1 Gen 1 and 3.1 Gen 2. The entry into commercial sale of the first generation version allowed to increase the transmission speed to 5 Gbit / s, but in addition to the acceleration the new version got two additional shielded cables in full duplex.
