Types of RJ connectors
RJ network connectors are a whole family of elements differing not only in dimensions, but also in the number and arrangement of contacts and... application. In addition to the typical commercial designations (e.g. RJ-11, RJ-45, etc.), it is necessary to know the second way to determine the structure of the connectors, using two letters - P and C - and two numbers immediately following them. For example, a 4P2C connector has 4 positions, but only 2 contacts. On the other hand, the 8P8C connector - most often also called RJ-45 - is wider than the 4P and 6P connectors and includes 8 contacts, occupying all 8 positions. What is important, each of the typical modular connectors (RJ) is equipped with a latch integrated with the casing. This ensures secure contact between all pairs of contacts and prevents the plug from accidentally being pulled out or falling out of the socket.
Plugs for all applications
Our offer includes sets of 8P8C plugs, dedicated for use in computer local area networks (LAN) and compatible with all Ethernet sockets - packed in sets of 5 or 100 pieces. Some connectors are compatible with category 6 (CAT. 6e) network cables. We also have 6P4C connectors available off-the-shelf, used for plugging into the ends of telephone cables, working with landline phones, fax machines or ADSL modems. Please note that to mount the connectors on the cables you will need a suitable crimping tool, usually supporting various RJ network connectors in sizes from 4 to 8 positions.
Network sockets
In this category you will also find various types of network sockets, working with modular plugs of RJ type. If you are planning to make or refresh your internet installation, surface-mounted 1- or 2-track sockets will be an excellent choice. When planning your installation, keep in mind that you should plan to run a separate cable from your router or network switch for each outlet. If there is a need to extend the cable or connect two network cables in the existing installation, two-sided connectors will be useful, containing two 8P8C sockets connected 1:1, placed in aesthetic (white or beige) casing. For newly designed devices, we also recommend RJ network connectors for PCB mounting. We have both single sockets with line status indicators (in the form of LEDs), and strips of 16 sockets arranged in two rows - useful for building large network devices or servicing existing ones.
