DC micro geared motors belong to the DC motor group. They are characterized by their very small size, which makes them ideal for electronic projects where miniaturization is important, such as robots or remote controlled vehicles. The gearbox allows you to reduce the speed of the motor shaft and increase its torque, so the final device can carry more weight. In this category you will find a wide selection of DC micro geared motors - we offer models in High Power (high power and energy consumption), Medium Power (medium power and balanced current consumption) and Low Power (low power and lowest energy consumption). Also available are motors with carbon brushes, which have an extremely long life and durability. Most of the devices available in this category have been created by the Pololu brand, which is one of the world's leading manufacturers of electronic and robotic components.

DC micro geared motors
DC micro geared motors are very often used in small electronic devices where every millimeter is worth its weight in gold. They are DC motors, so the most common source of electricity in equipment equipped with this type of drive are rechargeable or disposable batteries, and sometimes special power supplies that convert alternating current from the power grid to direct current. The gearbox located in the motor makes it possible to lower the speed of the shaft while increasing the torque. This allows such a drive to be used in devices that require lower speed but more force to be applied. A great example would be to compare two projects - a remote-controlled racing car and a robotic arm. In the case of the car, a higher speed motor will usually work better, while a higher torque motor will be more useful in the arm.
Power consumption
In small equipment, which is usually driven by geared DC micro motors, it is important to optimize power versus current consumption. This is especially true for equipment that is to be powered by batteries or rechargeable batteries, since increasing the number of cells (to provide more power for the same amount of time) would have to increase the weight and dimensions of the equipment. Therefore, DC micro motors with gearing are available in three basic variants: High Power, Medium Power and Low Power. High Power motors are characterized by very high performance, which translates into a high demand for electricity. They will work well in projects where high motor power is the most important, but long operation time on a single charge or minimizing the size and weight of the device (due to power cells) are of secondary importance. Medium Power motors have medium power and consume an average amount of electricity - they are a versatile solution for when you are not sure which model to choose, or you plan to use one motor for several different projects. Low Power motors, on the other hand, have low power and low current draw, so they are ideal for devices where weight and size reduction (no extra cells) or maximizing runtime on a single charge is most important.
