Product description: Module for obtaining energy from the environment in rooms - DFM8001 - DFRobot DFR1108
The DFM8001 by DFRobot is a micro-power module designed for indoor applications that allows you to power devices without the need for a battery or accumulator. It draws energy from natural sources - such as sunlight, RF radiation, thermal or mechanical energy - and stores it efficiently . With integrated charge, discharge and voltage stabilization management, it is an ideal solution for maintenance-free IoT devices. The module also offers broad compatibility with photovoltaic cells (including amorphous and organic) and copes well in low-light conditions, e.g. indoors.
The manufacturer has prepared a detailed user guide that will make it much easier to start working with the module.

Our offer also includes a complete kit for obtaining energy from the environment in rooms - DFM8001 - DFRobot KIT0197 .
Main features of the DFM8001 module
- No need for batteries : enables the design of maintenance-free systems
- Dynamic MPPT : Automatic Maximum Power Point Tracking
- Supports various energy sources : light, RF, heat, vibration
- Integrated energy management : charging, discharging, voltage stabilization
- Two independent LDO outputs : 1.2V to 1.8V and 1.8V to 4.1V with switches
- Low-light performance : excellent performance in indoor lighting conditions
- Safety system : overcharge and over-discharge protection
Connecting the module
To configure the power system:
- connect the module configuration pins to GND / Vbuck
- connect a photovoltaic cell or other energy source
- connect an energy storage device, e.g. a battery or supercapacitor
- connect the receiver to the LDO voltage output
Attention!
Before connecting the energy storage, make sure its voltage is lower than the open circuit voltage (Voc) to avoid damaging the system. Disconnect the energy storage when changing the configuration.
DFM8001 module pinouts
The DFM8001 module offers configuration pins for VCF[2:0], GND and Vbuck power, power source inputs and LDO voltage outputs. The pins also allow monitoring of the output status and the voltage level of the energy storage . For custom mode, solder the appropriate resistors (R1-R8) before configuration. Thanks to the compact design, all key functions fit on a board measuring only 15 x 15 mm.
