The PET (polyethylene terephthalate) filament is commonly used in 3D printing. It's a polyester plastic popular in the plastic bottles industry, and it's available in several forms: PET, PETG, and Copolyesters. PETG filament is simple to print, and that's why it's very popular among professionals and hobbyists. It is important to note that PET doesn't emit toxic gases during printing; however, it's advisable to use the printer ventilation properly. Also, PET must undergo controlled cooling to achieve high-quality 3D print. It's necessary to follow the manufacturer's recommendations regarding the ventilation of this material. At Botland.store, you will find a large selection of high-quality PETG filaments. If you're looking for a filament that will meet your expectations, check our catalog and find the best product for your needs. Also, don't hesitate to ask us a question. Our customer service will provide you professional guidance through our assortment.

PET-G filament - What is it and what are its properties?
PET-G (or PETG) is an abbreviation in the materials science industry for polyethylene terephthalate with glycol admixture . PET-G properties: It is a polyester material with high flexibility and high mechanical strength , also characterized by minimal shrinkage in the printing process . Head temperatures recommended by manufacturers range from 230 °C to 255 °C for Spectrum filaments, and slightly lower (from 220 °C to 250 °C) for Devil Design filaments. The recommended table temperature is only 70 - 80 °C . What is very important, 3D printing using PETG filaments does not involve the release of toxic and unpleasant gases . PET-G is hydrophobic and offers high transparency (some of the filaments are completely colorless and transparent) and gloss , and is characterized by good scratch resistance.
Applications of PET-G filaments
PETG filaments are based on PET material, whose main application is in the packaging of food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical products . However, this group of applications does not exhaust the range of possibilities of using PET-G in 3D printing. It is perfect for all applications where mechanical and chemical resistance is important , therefore it can also be successfully used in handle covers or elements working in constant immersion or in contact with lubricants or gasoline . In the case of PETG filaments produced by Devil Design, on the pages of individual products you will find catalog notes with a very detailed description of the chemical and physical properties of the filaments. Transparent PETG filaments are also perfect for printing illuminated elements, e.g. using LED diodes.
PETG filaments – to choose from, to match the color
Our offer includes all the PETG filaments you need - you can choose from various colors of Spectrum and Devil Design materials , from transparent (colorless Glass and Transparent, as well as colored - red, orange and yellow, light and dark blue or bottle green), to deep black (Black, Galaxy Black and Deep Black). Shades of white (White, Arctic White) and bright, eye-pleasing colors known from other filament series (e.g. ABS or PLA), such as Lime Green, Lion Orange or Bahama Yellow, are also available immediately. We also have attractively priced sets from Devil Design, containing various colors of PETG filaments, 330 g each - a useful set of six basic colors will provide an excellent base for printing various necessary details.
PETG filaments, also called P-ETG, are actually polyethylene terephthalate to which a small amount of glycol has been added. 3D printers using PETG filaments are very popular among both beginners and experienced three-dimensional printing enthusiasts. During printing, set the table temperature between 70°C and 80°C. Selected filaments require the head temperature to be set between 220°C and 250°C. Our store's assortment includes filaments that require setting the head operating temperature in the range from 230°C to 255°C.
Printing a PETG filament requires, first of all, setting the appropriate temperature of the table (range from 70°C to 80°C) and the head (range from 220°C to 255°C, depending on the recommendations of the PETG filament manufacturer). When printing using PETG thermoplastic, no harmful substances or unpleasant odors are emitted. This means that printing with PETG filament can be done at home (in well-ventilated rooms). It is also worth mentioning that the final product can be cooled, but this is not necessary.
When printing with PETG filament, brass nozzles are usually used, which are characterized by excellent heat transfer. In practice, this means the ability to precisely set the temperature, and thus achieve satisfactory results in 3D printing. The most popular nozzle diameter for 3D printers is 0.4 mm (some models have such a nozzle pre-installed). This is the golden mean between print resolution (detail) and printing speed. There is nothing stopping you from printing with PETG filaments using nozzles of smaller or larger diameter.
