One knife that lasts a long time
Knives with a breakaway blade are commonly called wallpaper cutters - and indeed they are particularly handy for cutting off veneer or wallpaper unwound from a roll. In the workshop, however, they can be used for many other applications: cutting through tracing paper, wrapping paper, tape, string, cutting forms out of paper, and even scraping off a thin layer of varnish or paint. Knives with a breakaway blade are also great for cutting insulation (when stripping cable) and trimming wires. Their blade is based on a brilliantly simple idea: it is fitted with diagonal cuts along its entire length. As a result, when one blade is worn out, it can be slid out and safely broken off with the help of the break-off device integrated in the cover. Another blade is then created at the point where it breaks off.
Higher level of safety
While breakaway knives have a fairly flexible blade, many jobs in the workshop, at home or in the field require solid, hard blades. In this situation, it is worth getting a high quality folding knife. In our store you will find Yato model YT-76050 made of stainless steel. The handle is made of anodized aluminum, which provides very durable surface protection. For convenience the handle is also covered with ABS plastic. Thanks to the folding mechanism, the knife is completely safe for the user during transport (no risk of accidental injury), and an additional clip at the end of the handle allows it to be attached, for example, to the belt loop of a work overalls or to a tool belt.
Convenient cutting of laminate
Laminates for making PCBs are made on a composite substrate of fiberglass and epoxy resin, covered with a layer of copper. They are most often purchased in larger boards, from which smaller boards are then cut as needed. Since the process of sawing them would promote dust that is harmful to lungs and eyes, a much better solution is to use laminate cutters. In our store, you can buy precision shears with a design suitable for both right- and left-handed people. The blade is finished with tiny teeth, thanks to which you do not have to use much pressure when cutting. An additional lock connecting the handles of the laminate cutter increases user safety when storing the tool.
