The FRAM memory is based on crystals of a solid solution of lead zirconate and titanate. Moreover, the way they are used also differs significantly from, for example, Flash memory. The FRAM memory was created at the beginning of the second decade of the 21st century (it is worth adding, however, that memories produced in the FRAM technology have been around since 1993, but in a slightly different version and not on a mass scale like today). As you can see, it is a very modern technology. It was developed by two American companies cooperating with each other: Texas Instruments and Ramtron International. FRAM memory - ferroelectric random-access memory - is a random access memory that belongs to the group of so-called non-volatile memories. Non-volatile memory is a type of memory that does not lose data even after a sudden loss of power. This means incredible security and stability in data storage. For this reason, they are primarily used to store the most important information ensuring stable operation in computers. Therefore, FRAM memory is used - apart from the professional use indicated above - as a way to permanently save the settings of the computer's motherboard, eg BIOS.

Fram memory modules allow you to address, write and read individual words. The big advantage of such solutions is the ability to modify parts of the record without the need to delete entire blocks of memory first. Moreover, FRAM memory is characterized by very low energy consumption, which makes it pro-ecological. FRAM also has a very high write speed, high durability and high durability, which is about 100 years. In this respect, it is difficult to find better data storages!

What FRAM memory do you need?

The Botland store offers various modules with non-volatile FRAM memory. There are various capacities between products, such as 64 Kb (8 KB) or 256 Kb (32 KB) memory. The way the device communicates will also be different. It is necessary to distinguish communication using the SPI interface and the communication module in the form of the I2C interface. In both systems, the outputs require a 3.3 V or 5 V power supply (any). The dimensions of the plates are 15.5 mm x 20 mm x 2 mm, the pins are ready for self-assembly of gold pin connectors (the strips are included with the device) - the pins are 2.54 mm raster.
