Product description: Human Static Presence - mmWave 24 GHz sensor for Seeed Xiao - Seeedstudio 101010001
Human Static Presence is a highly integrated human body detection and positioning module designed specifically for the Xiao development platform . The sensor uses FMCW technology operating in the 24 GHz band, which allows for precise detection of targets in a specific space. Thanks to advanced radar signal processing algorithms, this module achieves exceptional sensitivity, enabling the detection of both moving and static human objects. It can also provide additional information such as distance to target calculations. It has a maximum detection range of up to 5 m and a wide detection angle of ± 60º . The module also supports Bluetooth functionality, enabling direct debugging of radar parameters using a dedicated application, which eliminates the need to use the serial port. Additionally, it is characterized by excellent adaptation to environmental conditions , maintaining stable detection performance regardless of temperature, brightness, humidity or lighting changes.
The manufacturer has prepared a detailed user guide - check it out!
Special features of the sensor

- Versatile applications : ideal for use in smart homes, security and monitoring systems.
What does FMCW stand for?
The abbreviation FMCW stands for Frequency-Modulated Continuous Wave radar. It is a type of radar sensor that emits a continuous transmission signal and can change its operating frequency during measurement. What does this mean in practice? The transmitted signal is frequency modulated, making it possible to measure both the distance and the speed of moving objects. FMCW radars are used wherever where it is necessary to measure very small distances and high measurement reliability is required.
