Description
Sensor, type PIR, can detect movement. Used to detect objects in the premises, alarm and lighting systems. The sensor is supplied with the voltage from 3.3 to 5 V. When connecting it, it is necessary to wait 1-2 seconds until the sensor will do a snapshot of the room. If, after this time, something will move in the area of the sensor, thealarmpin will be low. For detection, the sensor uses IR, that is a warm. The sensor may be used to control lighting, if someone is in the range of the sensor, the light will be turned on, if no one will, the light will be off. Connecting the sensor is easier thanks to the Gravity connector.
Connection example
The figure shows a connection example of PIR sensor with the module LED RGB Gravityandexpansion board.
The best connection option is to use the extension board Gravity IO Expansion ShieldandArduino. The sensor can work with the 3.3 V voltage, making it compatible withRaspberry Pi,Intel Edison,Intel Jouleand Curie.
Pins
The sensor is equipped with a Gravity connector, making it easier to connect. It is powered with the voltage in the range of 3 V to 5 V.
