LED current limitation
Resistors are extremely versatile and easy to use electronic components. Thanks to that they can be used in many applications in many different ways.
One of the most popular is the use of power resistors in the form of current limitation for LEDs, on which is deposited the voltage of the power source minus the voltage drop on the LED. In this way, the resistor correspondingly reduces the current draw and protects the LED from damage.
Soldering power resistors
Mounting 1W power resistors is no less important than for resistors of lower power. Before soldering the resistor to the PCB, clean the solder pads.
Before applying tin, put the tip of the soldering iron to the pad and the lead of the element and for warming up. Then, when applying the tin, spread it in such a way as to create a smooth and shiny connection between the resistor lead and the soldering pad.
