Description

Overlay toRaspberry Pifor data transfer via RS485 protocol. Although RS485 is an archaic bus, it has some features that distinguish it from newer interfaces. It allows, among other things, to connect up to 32 devices on the same line up to 1 km long with a maximum speed of 10 Mbps. The board has ARK screw connector for connecting transmission line wires and holes for DB9 connector solder.

The module is based on MAX481CSA chip(documentation). Details concerning connection and use of the overlay can be found on theproductpage.

The module can also be connected to the RaspberryPi 3, 2 and B+leaving additional GPIO connectors free.
