Description
Arduino Esplora is a module created on the basis of the popular ArduinoLeonardotiles. Apart from the microcontroller, Atmega32U4, Esplora also has a number of sensors and input/output devices such as: keyboard, joystick, microphone or thermometer, which makes the module very functional. The manufacturer provides anumber of librariesto facilitate the use of the circuit boards available on the board. In the set there is a microUSB cable, so the user can immediately start working with Arduino Esplora.
Layout of elements on Arduino Esplora board.
On the board, in addition to the microcontroller, are located:
- Analogue joystick with a button - two axes (x,y) and a button in the middle.
- Keyboard - four tact-switch buttons for any purpose
- Linear potentiometer - in the form of a slider
- Microphone - which can be used to measure the ambient noise level
- Light intensity sensor - for measuring light levels
- Thermometer - sensor for measuring ambient temperature
- 3-axis accelerometer - enables measurement of 3-axis accelerations: X, Y, Z
- Buzzer - simple sound generator
- RGB LED - a diode that can emit light in any colour
- 2 x 3-pin input connector to connect theTinkerKit
- 2 x 3-pin output connector to connect the TinkerKit kit
- TFT display connector - to connect an optional color display, SD card slot or other device using the SPI bus
- LEDs:
- ON (green) - indicating power connection
- L (yellow) - any purpose LED connected to pin 13
- TX and RX - LEDs indicating communication via USB
In our offer you will also finda display for Arduino Esplora. |
Specification
The heart of Arduino Esplora module is microcontroller from AVR ATmega32U4 family, which has the following features:
- Working voltage: 5 V
- Maximum clock frequency: 16 MHz
- SRAM: 2.5 kB
- Flash memory: 32 kB (4 kB reserved for bootloader)
- EEPROM memory: 1 kB
- The exits: 20
- PWM channels: 7
- Number of analog inputs: 12 (A/C converter channels)
- Serial interfaces: UART, SPI, I2C
- External interruptions
The ATmega32U4has 20 digital input/output (I/O) outputs. Each pin allows for a maximum current draw of 40 mA, which allows for direct connection of LEDs with resistors and control of other integrated circuits. In addition to the standard I/O, some of the outputs also have specialfunctions.
Programming
Creating and uploading software enables afree environmentprovided by the manufacturer. The implemented bootloader allows you to upload the program directly through theUSB cable (included in the package). ISCP connector allows to connect external AVR programmer.
Protection of the USB port
Arduino has a system that protects the computer's USB port against short circuit and excessive current flow. Most computers also have their own protection, shutting off the power supply when the current flow exceeds 500 mA.
Included
- Arduino Esplora
- Zipper and joystick overlays
