Question: Good day, I have a question about the sound card. I apologize in advance, but I have not dealt with a Raspberry computer. I wanted to ask for advice on which sound card to choose - I am most interested in having the device work as a DAC, I want to input a signal from a smart tv or player through an optical or digital (COAXIAL) connector and output the signal to a stereo amplifier.
Answer: The selected overlay has an optical input and output, so it should be suitable for your application.

The sound quality from the digital output as well as from the PCM5102 is very good. I did not use the DSP processor but you can expect wide possibilities when using Sigma Studio.
