Description
The program consists of three parts listed below. Each of them includes five projects.
- Make it Move:
Students have the task to design, build and program robots, that can move using motors with rotation sensors. In five projects, students apply mathematics and technical knowledge to create robots that can measure distance and speed, move without wheels, climb the inclined plane and sketch polygons. Students will use their knowledge of the simple and complex machine constructions, as well as learn how to use indicators to describe the proportionality.
- Make it Smarter:
Students have the task to add sensors to the robots to monitor their behavior and measure, applie to graphs, and analyze measurement data from sensors. In five projects, students create robots that use sensors to measure ambient light, reflected light, recognize colors, measure the distance to the obstacle, recognize the state of the touch sensor and the angular deflection or rate of change of therotation angle.
- Make a System:
The student's task will be the design, construction and programming of robotics systems, consisting of subsystems. Five projects include tasks such as the construction of the transmission system of the ball or working on objects, model automatic production line, sort colors. Students will test the built system to collect data, measuring and optimizing created projectson this basis .
Every project starts with a brief introduction, explaining the task and displaying the video where robots are used in real life. The end result is created and programmed construction that students must demonstrate. In the process of making decisions, students acquire and use knowledge in the field of technical sciences. This whole process was designed to develop the qualities necessary in the 21st century: creative thinking, problem solving skills, communication competence, and promoting team work.
Engineeting projects pack is delivered in an electronic form, and after installation remains available on the main screen (lobby) in LEGO MINDSTORMS Education EV3 app. Built-in content editor enables teachers to adapt the curriculum and provides an opportunity to create your own lessons. Using the built-in digital notebook, students can document the projects, which facilitates further work of a teacher or a coach. |
