Product description: Fermion - ToF distance sensor TMF8701- 0,6m - I2C - DFRobot SEN0429
Fermion's time-of-flight (ToF) distancesensor module TMF8701. The sensor measures distance based on the time difference between light pulses. It detects objects regardless of the color, reflectance, and texture of the object. The TMF8701 operates in proximity mode (from 1 cm to 10 cm) or range mode (from 10 cm to 60 cm). The device measures with ±5% accuracy and can operate in both lighted and dark environments. The module uses an I2C interface for communication and is powered by 2.7 V to 3.3 V.
Main features of the TMF8701 distance sensor
- 21° FOI, detects objects closest to center
- Measuring range from 10 mm to 600 mm
- Measures in well-lit and dark environments with ±5% accuracy
- Built-in histogram to compensate for dirt and streaks on the cover glass
- 940 nm VCSEL Class 1 eye safety
- Low power consumption up to 940 μA at 10 Hz (proximity mode); current consumption 26 mA at 60 Hz (distance and proximity mode); off current 0.26 μA (EN=0)
Module Application
- Proximity detection
- Presence detection
- Object detection
- Distance measurement
- Collision avoidance
