Product description: Light Messenger - PoV module for vision and light painting - for Flipper Zero
Light Messenger is a hackable and open-source extension for Flipper Zero that allows you to draw with light and display text in the air. The module is equipped with 16 RGB LEDs , which are controlled in real time using an I2C accelerometer . Thanks to a dedicated application, you can draw bitmaps, edit text and use various animation modes. The module works on the principle of Persistence of Vision (PoV) - when you wave Flipper Zero with the module connected, the LEDs light up at the right moments, creating the illusion of a displayed image. The system precisely detects the movement of the hand, synchronizing the emission of light with the position in space. Thanks to its compact design and power supply directly from Flipper Zero, Light Messenger is an ideal tool for creating light effects, light painting and creative experiments with images in motion. The module can also act as a flashlight.
Flipper Zero is not included in the set . You can buy it separately in our store - check here!
Light Messenger Key Features
- Persistence of Vision (PoV): technology for creating images in mid-air by rapidly moving LEDs
- 16 programmable RGB LEDs: full color and animation control
- Built-in accelerometer: precisely detects movement and synchronizes lighting
- Light Messenger App: Bitmap, Text Editor and Customizable Effects
- Flashlight mode: the module can be used as an ultra-bright light
- Fully compatible with Flipper Zero: quick installation and integration
- Open-source: ability to customize code and add new features
- Compact design: fits in your pocket, ready to use at any time
How does it work?
Light Messenger uses an accelerometer to track user movements . When the module is moved in the air, the algorithm synchronizes the lighting of RGB diodes, creating a smooth image effect . Our eyes, thanks to the phenomenon of Persistence of Vision (POV), combine these flashes into a coherent graphic. The effect is best seen in a dark environment and requires smooth movements.
- Connection - the module is mounted directly on the GPIO connector of the Flipper Zero
- Installing the App - Download the Light Messenger App from the Flipper App Store
- Entering content - you can enter your own text or create a bitmap in the editor
- Hand movement - when you move the Flipper quickly, the LEDs light up at the right moments, creating the illusion of an image in the air
- Customize effects - ability to change colors, animations and movement direction
Arrangement of elements
- RGB LEDs (16 x SK6805) - individually controlled, powerful RGB LEDs for dynamic and effective lighting
- I2C Accelerometer (LIS2XX12) - a key element of the Light Messenger that allows LEDs to respond to movement in real time
Practical applications
- Visual effects and photography - creating unique light graphics for photos and videos
- Education and Experimentation - Perfect for learning about Persistence of Vision and Optics
- Hobbies and creative projects - personalizing Flipper Zero with your own light animations
- Light signals - displaying messages in the dark, e.g. at concerts or in street art
