Product description: LoRa 868MHz module - USB A - SB Components 26579
The LoRa module in the form of a USB adapter allows for long-range LoRa communication while ensuring low energy consumption. The USB module is based on the SX1268 chip and operates at a frequency of 868 MHz. The built-in CH340 chip supports USB 2.0 communication. The maximum connection range is 5 km, and the transmission power is up to 160 mW - with a selectable level. The data transfer rate is up to 62.5 kbps. The input voltage range is from 2.1 V to 5.5 V. Additional goldpin plugs allow cooperation with any microcontroller, including Arduino and Raspberry Pi , via Tx/Rx pins. Thanks to limited power consumption and a wide operating temperature range - from -40°C to 85°C - the module is suitable for use in battery-powered home automation devices or industrial devices.
The module is equipped with the SX1268 system.
SX1268 chip
SX1268 is a transmitter and receiver system designed for long-range transmission, characterized by low current consumption - up to 4.6 mA. It has a built-in converter thanks to which it can operate with a wide range of input voltages. It supports LoRa communication with a transmission rate of up to 62.5 kbps, as well as other protocols using FSK modulation. It is characterized by a sensitivity of -148 dBm and resistance to inter-channel crosstalk up to 19 dB for LoRa. The wide range of supported frequencies - from 150 MHz to 960 MHz - makes it possible to use it with many communication standards available in the world.
What is LoRa?
LoRa (Long Range) is a low-power, long-range wireless communication system. It was created for use in IoT devices (Internet of Things) and home automation and industrial devices. The maximum data transfer distance is up to 15 km and the data transfer speed is up to 37.5 kbps. Due to transmission delays, it is not suitable for use in real-time systems. However, it is a great solution for transmitting measurement data from sensors or control signals of various devices. In Europe, it operates at a frequency of 868 MHz.
